Brynley Stent

Soft Carnage

  • New Zealand

Winner Billy T Award 2021 NZ International Comedy Festival

The self-described Pansexual People’s Princess of New Zealand, Brynley Stent, brings her absurdist solo sketch show to Melbourne.

A celebration of dealing with emotional shit through the tried-and-true medium of “making jokes” – because people like jokes, but they don’t like others crying in front of them. From believing the automated voice on the Tax Department’s call line has a personal vendetta against you to falling in lust with a self-serve checkout machine, these sketches were dreamed up during Brynley’s wandering thoughts in the most boring* therapy sessions of her life.

*avoidant.

As seen on Taskmaster NZ, Snort Comedy, and Guy Montgomery’s Guy Mont-Spelling Bee.

'Sketch show brilliance.' ★★★★½ NZ Herald

'Hilarious… Not one quiet moment.' Regional News (NZ)

Suitable for audiences 15+

Language – occasional coarse language

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.
