Perils of Pauline Productions

Pauline Sherlock

Psychopath School

  • Australia

In Psychopath School, Professor Lucinda HedKikka takes you through a grotesque, comedic exploration of how to become a psychopath. Learn how to kill with your genitals, get in touch with your inner rage and immerse yourself in the absurd, frightening, exciting ridiculousness of this interactive experience. This is a solo theatre show playing in clown, bouffon and the grotesque, satirically and absurdly dealing with the shadow aspects of life. Death, anger, abuse, assault and revenge are some topics which develop in this show, emerging in cahoots with the audience. Anything might happen in this show, something like a fair ground ride, presented by slightly (totally) insane performing artist Pauline Sherlock.

Pauline Sherlock is a multidisciplinary performer trained and experienced in theatre, clown, bouffon, butoh and improvisation, thriving in the grotesque and specialising in comedic interaction with audiences. Pauline has performed extensively in cabaret, ensemble theatre, stand-up and musical comedy including several solo shows. This show will be her first solo, full-length character show exploring and showcasing her multiple skills in crazy!

Reviews from previous show Trapped Inside a Fat Old Lady:

"Sherlock is warm and engaging and her ability to make you feel as if she is addressing you directly is impressive." Myron My.

"It would be wonderful to see a show featuring Pauline's gorgeously happy stage presence combined with her powerful vocals, sincerely expressed lyrics and comedic talent, without unnecessary, unflattering foul language and smutty content." Cheryl Threadgold.

This is not that show. Expect an abundance of foul language and smutty content and some challenging and impactful vulnerability. This will be a show on many levels exploring the depth of human complexity with humour and fun but not skirting the dark and challenging aspects of our precarious existence on this planet.

This is a self-devised, solo, character show. Character inspiration: Samantha Helps. Devising consultant: Giovanni Fusetti. Creative input: 'The Greenhouse of Fools' workshop participants. Development support: La Mama Theatre 'Scratch' programme and Residency programme.

Strictly for audiences 15+
