We’re seeking two Program Assistants to support our programming team with the administration of programs and events, and day-to-day stakeholder communications for the 40th Melbourne International Comedy Festival. These roles provide directed administrative and logistical support across planning and delivery in a fast-paced festival environment.

Key Selection Criteria
We’re looking for people with:

  • Experience supporting the delivery of projects or events, juggling multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Basic familiarity with administrative or financial processes, such as tracking budgets, processing invoices, preparing schedules, and assisting with contracts.
  • Clear communication and strong people skills, with the ability to work well with artists, managers, venues and internal teams.
  • Confidence using digital tools (Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, Airtable, Red61) and a willingness to learn ticketing or marketing systems.
  • An understanding of, or interest in, the festival or live performance environment, and the ability to adapt to its dynamic and collaborative nature.
  • A flexible and cooperative approach, willing to take direction, contribute as part of a team, and take on a range of tasks as needed — especially during the busy Festival period when priorities can shift quickly.
